Update (8/12): It's the AXC.smx only. Sorry about that. The rest of them are already blacklisted.
-------------------------------------
So... it seems this never ends.

Description: Anox core plugin
Forum: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/anoxplugin

You can download this plugin from the link above which I do not recommend using (until they release source).
It seems this community did not learn their lesson from last time...
They are continuing to distribute their plugin without source codes.

As far as I know, up to 4 korean servers are using this without knowing anything about Sourcemod GPL.

I decompiled and checked the file and couldn't find any backdoor systems.
BUT, distributing plugins without any source code files is still illegal.

AXC.smx (only this)

file is attached below.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

PS: If you are the author reading this, I don't hate you.
I don't have anything against you.
But sharing plugins without including the source files(sp) is still illegal.
It looks like you haven't learned that last time they were black listed.

-----------------
Q: What's so bad about it? - Spirit_12
A: It's the law. If you don't like it, feel free to try to change it.

Q: This rule is stupid! If I were in charge, I wouldn't regulate it at all! let them make their choice! - Spirit_12
A 1: Their choice is disabling blacklist feature.
A 2: Not everyone is smart enough to know what they should avoid or not.
A 3: Stop trying to be smart ass. I don't think it's working out for you right now.
A 4: Instead of bitching about it, please rise up to become sourcemod manager or something and change the rule your self.

Q: But I want to sell my plugins without source files
A: It's the law.

Q: But.. but... my sweat and blood! what if they try to make profits by reselling my stuffs?
A: The. Law.

Q: But! BUT!
A: L A W .

Q: Is there a way to prevent my customers from reselling or distributing my plugins without violating GNU GPL ???
A 1: Try making a policy. For example, if your clients ever resell or distribute, cut your relationship with them by not providing any supports or fixes.
A 2: Sell your plugins to the people you can trust.
A 3: Don't sell them at all. Keep your shits private.

Update (8/12): Stated above.
Update (8/13): Had to make an incredibly complex image with instructions for certain individual who clearly watched Rick and Morty too much (image cannot be comprehended by mere apes with IQ below 140).

These are already on our blacklist, Anox has been notified (or attempted to be notified) already. SourceMod will not load these plugins by default.

It has been reported that upto 4 servers are using these right now.
I'm guessing they found a way around...

And of course, none of them seem to have the source code files.
(an anonymous whistle blower told me he talked to other users and they were in the same situation)

Ran it through my parser; can verify that all the hashes in the available plugins are present in the blacklist with the exception of AXC.smx (f9874d362c5c8142037045a0a2c6249c), though I can't recall if that file was in violation of the GPL.

I'd suspect that those servers voluntarily disabled the blacklist (which is easily doable by changing BlockBadPlugins in configs/core.cfg), and so they've acknowledged the risks.

I just recieved that those clients are using them without having to disable black list feature.

What is the harm in releasing plugins without source? There are a lot of coders who consider their work private. If there was a backdoor or malicious intentions then that’s one thing, but if not providing source is the only reason then idk how I feel about that.

Generally, this kind of authors want to sell their stuffs BUT don't want their clients to modify or redistribute.
IMO, only sell them to people you can trust or just don't sell at all.
Even if its free-distributed....

Going to preface this with not a lawyer and that this is my understanding of it:

The licensing agreement you agree to when you build a plugin/extension that depends on SourceMod (a derivative work) means your work is released under the GPLv3; you have a legal obligation to provide the source code with any compiled plugins you release.

Under this license, you're free to write your own plugins for personal use (on your own server) without providing sources. Once you give someone else the ability to use your code, you must also provide the source.

This is beneficial to the user - there's nothing stopping them from adding new functionality or fixing it up when it breaks after game updates if the original author has no interest in doing the work.
