These improvements ever get implemented?

Having a few problems:
With the SQL version when a player joins the server (myself), the plugin prints "MYSQL ERROR (Map Feedback - error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query)" and then hangs the server.
I'm using a existing DB config that works for 2 other plugins.

With the non-SQL version there are several issues:
  1. The annotations "fly in" from off screen continuously until finally staying put and eventually fading out.
  2. Client console is spammed with a number of lines reading "Failed to load sound "", file probably missing from disk/repository".
  3. The plugin prints "[SM] There is already an annotation here!" even after the annotation has vanished (even over a minute later).
Edit: In fact its still reporting that an annotation already exists even now after I've finished typing this.

Valve have very much broken Annotations, I'll take a look at the SQL version tomorrow but #1, #2 and #3 are due to valve chages, #2 can be fixed fairly easily by specifying a sound to be played when the annotation is shown.

Is this abadoned?
Because i get this error message:
Line 11: L 06/26/2013 - 077:56: [annotations_sql.smx] [SM] MYSQL ERROR (Map Feedback - error: Can't connect to MySQL server on '*********' (110))

My databases.cfg settings are 100% working, because the tf2stats plugin can connect to my mysql server.

Edit:
The non-mysql version is also not really working. Like DarthNinja's describing: The message is "flying in" every second, which is really annoying.

This plugin should get unapproved, if it's not getting updated/fixed.

Is there an alternative plugin for this? Because it would be really useful.

Rewritten the non-sql plugin, here's the changelog:
  • Complete rewrite
  • Annotations will no longer repeatedly fly in to the screen
  • An annotation will no longer block other annotations being placed after they've disappeared
  • Client console is no longer spammed with sound errors
  • Numerous other improvements and tidy-ups
I'll redo the SQL version at some point in the future (no promises though), but it will no longer be part of this thread if I do. If a plugin reviewer would like to move this back to new plugins (or approved ), that'd be much appreciated.

Might be a good idea to edit the Status field in the first post if you haven't already. Set it to "Ready for Review."

That is, assuming Unapproved threads have the Status field.

It's still in Approved though...

Also I hope the SQL version is being worked on because it'd be wonderful to keep a database on the co-ordinates and text of the annotations stored and reloaded on map start and such.
