I've followed your instructions to the letter on adding steam groups to the whitelist but it seems that everyone can join the server. Is there something wrong?

Plugin config = ? (to ensure that your whitelist was reloaded)

And you did use http://fennec.limetech.org/groupid.php right to get the groups ?

Can you whitelist everyone beside you ? (like try to block yourself from the server if you have remote access)

Do you have any errors ?

Not working for me. Downloaded the .smx, the .sp and the whitelist and include file. Created the whitelist folder in the /sourcemod/configs folder and put the whitelist.txt in it. Edited the file accordingly with SteamID's (not using GroupID's).

Added the .smx file into the plugin folder, the .sp file into the scripting folder and the .inc file into the /scripting/includes folder.

I am still not clear if tidykick is needed in any way because there are absolutely NO install instructions, which would be helpful to all those of us not so familiar with SM yet. Tried to connect to my Server running this, although I didnt whitelist my SteamID for test. Could just get in as if without this plugin. Any more detailed info about that ?

Btw using it for INSURGENCY (Standalone).

Also downloaded tidykick & installed the connect extension, but since that seems to be not working with other than 2009er Sourcemod Games, I get errors with that as well.

Code:
L 06/22/2014 - 11:48:42: [SM] Unable to load extension "connect.ext": Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefunden.

L 06/22/2014 - 11:48:42: [SM] Unable to load plugin "tidykick.smx": Required extension "Connect" file("connect.ext") not running
Downloaded the connect thingy and unpacked it into the correct folders, however the error is right, there is no connect.ext file.

There are 2 files in the extension folder called the following:
  • connect.ext.2.css.dll
  • connect.ext.2.ep2v.dll

And I'd say thats for sure not connect.ext.

So that whole whitelist thing seems to be a absolute no-go. Too bad. Looked nice.

Tidy kick isn't needed (or if it is, it shouldn't). If you read the changelog you'd have seen "Added support for TidyKick", implying that if you have it it would be used. Notice that I didn't use "requirement" rather than "support".

I did change the "note" section. I guess it should be more clear.

If you're unhappy you can still use the non-advanced version. I'll test my plugin again in the next 48 hours to see if it still work (Steam group aside, it should still work).

.smx is the plugin binary = what makes the plugin works
.sp is the source code = not needed for you
the whitelist.txt file will be created for you if you don't have it, as stated in first post
.inc are more source code, mainly used for plugins communication

You might want to read https://wiki.alliedmods.net/Base_Plugins_(SourceMod)

A part of it explain the "disabled plugins", which should make you understand what an not disabled plugin is.

But yeah I'm surprised I can't find simply the difference between the .smx/.sp on the wiki easily.

No, I mean I know the basics of where to put the files. But I always rather like the idea that the first post of a plugin presentation contains some basic install instructions, especially since some plugins are more complicated and include more files than other folders. For some you need to create folders etc. and for some you dont. And if you're not sure if you did it right (because a plugin isnt working) you wonder if you maybe installed it correct. And if there is no install info, its sometimes hard to know if its one self's fault or something else. ;) Thats what I ment.

I tried the simpler one, I suppose you mean this one...

https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=162859

which works partwise, but not really fully. Seems buggy or at least its with me. See my last post there.

As of today, my plugin is still working under CSGO.

I simply installed the plugin (Read : .smx), changed my whitelist_immunity to 0 and couldn't enter anymore. I then added myself to the whitelist and could enter.

I don't know what you're doing wrong, but I'm pretty sure if you read the complete first post you would get a better understanding of the plugin.

Well, i had the same problem as Wolfseye.
Im running nmrih servers, and have a lot of plugins as well. I spend some time to figure out what plugins are incompatible with this one. in my case it were:

1.sourcebans.smx (1.4.10)
2.admin-sql-prefetch.smx (1.6.0-dev+4177)
3.admin-flatfile.smx(1.6.0-dev+4177)

too bad, couse i cant abandon them
Hope, it helps.

Thx @litt89 & also **LOL** about that thing being incompatible with Sourcebans. ;) I for sure won't give that up as well. Too bad.

Did you try all those 3 individually ? Or all 3 together ? Because I have admin-flatfile.smx enabled.

And could you describe the conflict with Sourceban ? Is it that :
- the plugin doesn't load ?
- the plugin doesn't ban ?
- the plugin doesn't ... ?

Thanks
