What todo about that new Rule? GDPR basically affects any Community without Country Restriction, ime not really sure how to react to this.
Since following the GDPR is server-sided nearly impossible, should i just add a Privacy Policy that everyone must read on his first connect (handled with Cookies) containing what Information ime storing?

You don't get sued. If there were complaints filed against you and you were found to not be in compliance, you could face criminal charges and/or fines of up to 4% of your revenue for each instance of non-compliance.

So basically i need to provide an privacy policy to prevent this?
Also if i never expose a real Name or Adress, what could they do to me? They will contact my ISP and get my Adress by the Servers IP or?

I'm not a GDPR expert by any means but it affected me enough to look into and find important parts for server operators.

Good things to have are:

- Privacy Policy that explains you & third parties are collecting, storing, and using data to personalize experiences.

- Cookie Consent popup that also states this, where they have to click 'Yes I consent' or 'No I do not'

- Easy to find contact information for you so individual customers/clients can: request all of their stored personal data, opt out (or in) from previous consent, and/or have their stored personal data removed/destroyed

- If you are using collected data to actually personalize experiences for your players (ie - ads on your own website), you have to provide a way for players who have OPTED OUT of data collection to be served non-personalized experiences if you continue to serve them.

This is not nearly everything, but from the time I've spent reading through and getting up to compliance with my site and through certain vendors I have, these seem to be the most relevant to server communities as a whole. Larger and more involved communities likely have more specifics they need to be in compliance with.

Honestly, for small communities, getting in compliance is ungodly easy and should be done. Is there a real good chance you'll get caught up in shit for not complying....probably not. But all it takes is a few people to report your website and you *could* find yourself in a bit of shit.
