You can use hlds_linux

Or did they remove that

It is still there, but it doesn't appear to let me launch a server using it (build 6132), unless the parameters are different than hlds_run

hlds_run is just a shell script, so you could look inside it to see what it does.

Actually, looking through hlds_run, it passes the parameters directly through to ./hlds_linux but sometimes (always?) adds a -pidfile [filename] argument to it.
