First off, Great plugin. When it worked anyway

I'm getting this error in my server inside the sourcebans.log file.

L 06/15/2008 - 23:50:51: [sourcebans.smx] Database failure: [1045]: Access denied for user 'miketho'@'208.100.45.16' (using password: YES)

My friends server is getting this error

Notice that the ip's are different. I'm not sure if this is relevant.

Now, normally I would understand what that means and how to fix it, but in this case I simply don't understand it. Mainly because that is not my current server's IP in there (the 208.100.45.1 or my friends server ip, nor is it my webserver's IP. I setup my SQL to allow both IP's (my server's actual IP and the one listed in the error) just for the hell of it to see if it would fix the problem, but alas, it didn't fix my problem. If anybody has any suggestions to fix this specific error, that would be great. If you need anymore information let me know.

I know that I have the correct system requirements and everything, checked that out. Sourcemods USED to work (http://bans.thecouchonline.net) but all the sudden it just.. failed. Any ideas?

You have to allow access from the game server's ip. If you're using cpanel x you can add access hosts. Just add something like 208.100.45% as an access host.

What do you mean? This is a ban and admin system, it has nothing to do with stats.

OK....got everything working. However, I have some special characters in my server titles that the plugin cant seem to handle. When I take them out, it works fine, but when they're in (which is what I prefer) all my servers say "querying server data".

Is there a way to make it ignore characters it doesn't recognize?

We've always had the issue after implementing sourcebans that the "Ban" option is missing from the admin menu, despite that I have ban and root flags.

i recall earlier threads about moving basebans.smx to the disabled folder which I did.

However, it still doesn't appear in the menu. sm_ban in console seems to be working. Is there a way to bring it back into the admin menu or is it suppose to be like this?

Have you restarted your server since moving basebans.smx? That's all I can think of, it works fine here...

I was thinking maybe an alternative would be to allow the server names to be set manually?

What special characters are you using? I used » and my server name just stopped there...
