I was thinking the same thing actually until I tried it out. On 0.20 I never saw the text message. Not certain on 0.16, though. Time to redownload 0.16 I guess :-P

Edit: Didn't bother checking 0.16. It probably won't anyways. But my first test was in a 0.20 listen server and it never showed the message as far as I could see. But then I decided to try a dedicated just a bit ago. It appeared the first time, but never again after that. Not quite sure why on a listen it never showed. Not sure why it was different like that, but then again I've seen some oddities like that happen between a listen and dedicated with other things before. *shrug*

Sorry, mercury, guess you're stuck with either trying to upgrade to 0.20 now or waiting it out for a final release if you want to successfully suppress that message.
