Reply With Quote #1

I am trying to test if my GSLT configuration is on my SRCDS.

I've added:
Code:
+sv_setsteamaccount <login_token>
to the end of my startup commands as detailed in this article: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=2096027

It seems to be working because I see the following in my console:

Testing Methodology
To test this, I'm performing the following steps:
1. Clone the SRCDS to another VPS instance with a separate external IP.
-Server A and Server B are identical and both use the same GSLT.
2. In the TF2 client, add Server A to my favorites list.
3. Stop Server A
4. Start Server B
5. Observe if Server B automatically populates on TF2 client's favorites list.

Results:
Upon starting Server B, I do not see my server's name ever populate in the TF2 favorites browser. I have restarted steam and TF2 and refreshed the entire Server list.

All I can think is there is a time delay or perhaps set minimum period of time required before a server is registered to whatever database links the gameserver IDs to the IPs.

At this point I'm really stumped, any advice?

1 GSLT = 1 server
you can't have 2 servers with 1 GSLT

and i remeber some1 said it takes about 1 day for the ip to update

I understand this. That is why I stopped "Server A" before starting "Server B". I'm only using two servers to test if the server entry is updating the IP in the favorites browser. They are never running concurrently.
