Depends. If you just convert to an integer it becomes 127 and not 128. You have to round it to get 128.

It's the basics of programming, the conversion between primitive data types. If you can't handle those, go back to the basics and start learning again. Also wrong is wrong.

Yes, but that's not how you get the middle number between 0-255.
You just need to average the minimum and maximum.

(0+255)/2 = 255/2 = 127.5

Example (1-3):
(1+3)/2 = 4/2 = 2

Example (0-10):
(0+10)/2 = 10/2 = 5

Example ((-1)-1):
((-1)+1)/2 = 0/2 = 0

Grandma gave 256 candies to John and Marie. The candies had numbers that went from 0 to 255.
If they want to share the candies equally how many candies are each one gonna get? 127.5?

Sometimes I have the impression that 10% of the users here had any formal education.
