I actually never beat HL.
I got lost somewhere in the beginning.
I think I may have finished in Sven Co-op with a few friends who have played it before.
I've never played OpFors (whatever that is) or Blue Shift.

However, I did start Half-Life 2, and a few friends played with me (talking in ventrilo while playing, waiting at checkpoints for each other).
We got to the zombie town, and we didn't finish from there.
This summer, we got a co-op for HL2 games called Synergy.
We then finished Half-Life 2, and HL:2 Ep1, and HL:2 Ep2.

I did play the HL training mission 9999 times though. It never got bored cause I would shoot the guards that help and run away!
I don't think that I would've ever gotten into gaming if my older brother never played Half-Life.
He was the one that introduced me and I would always watch him play.
After he beat it, he moved onto Counter-Strike, which I remember him playing much more.
I got into CS a little and starting playing in random pubs like twice a week.
I remember playing Ricochet online, and that shit was so much fun!

I just got deeper and deeper into CS.
Then, one of my friends would come over and play it all the time.
I got a little angry with that cause he would play CS more than hang out with me, so I quit CS for a while.
Then, a few months later, I started playing again.
And, then a long line of my CS history until now.

I remember when I first got HL i was working on a large project and frustrated as hell. The buyers were pressuring me to finish and I was at a mental block. So I got the game and would play for a while and then work, then play, then work. Somehow that got me through the mental block and I finished the painting shortly after. People like to think that artists sit by waterfalls in nice peaceful settings to get inspiration. I get mine shooting ppl in CSS.

Heh. I wonder how many Finnish marks it cost back in the day.

Good job, though

I started HL yesterday, Steam sez I played 0.9 hours. I didn't run so much as I've used to during the past few years, so I am pretty close to the end of "On A Rail." Gonna finish the game tonight and start Opposing Force.

Anyhow, waiting for more stories about peoples HL history. Interesting stuff ^. I really thought that everybody here has finished HL by default.

That can't be the true. The introduction that can't be skipped is about five hours long.

I never completed Half-Life either, but because there was part of a later level that would unavoidably crash my copy of the game. I might play my Steam copy one day. I own but haven't played all the HL2-based games.

Unfortunately I don't have an international credit card, so I can't buy it. Anyone willing to buy it for me (can trade for code if you want).

Half-Life 1 was probably the most interesting game I've ever played along with Fallout 1/2 and Planescape: Torment.

Aside from that, writing stuff for it was fun.
