Ive been using firefox but lately its bein taking up about 50% of my cpu and wont let me switch tabs, My computer and internet connection is pretty good.

heres internet
computer:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.40 GHz
memory: 2047 MB

help ive had to revert to internet explorer

Try the latest Firefox beta. I've been using it for a while on both my computers and it's quite snazzy. It's a lot faster and the memory issues are less severe.

(Note: I am a biased source, so you may also want to look into Opera if your goal is avoiding IE.)

Yup...3.0b5 is running quite nicely...

Even the nightly 3.0pre build is running sexily. The memory leaks are basically non-existant.

If you are hesitant b/c of your addons/extensions, 3.0b5 has a tool where you can force-update them. Just go to your extensions box and click the force update. Restart Firefox, and the majority of them should work. All of mine did.

Actually Roach, if you want to be technical, Opera beats firefox in almost every test I've seen.

IE < FireFox < Opera is the general trend I've seen, with IE getting more bloated, and FireFox getting less and less bloated, and Opera getting slightly better and definitely better on standards.

I still run firefox 1.5, because 2.0 is very bloated, and 3.0 tends to feel slower. Why don't I use opera? I support open source, and I'd readily use a browser that isn't as good, but I can trust and have added to, then anything else.
