@Hawkeye-
sorry for my reply late.
for me, just run mumble and open "server browser" dialog and nothing happened (no connect to server) after type "!mumble" in my game server.
do i need to make mumble server to "public server"?
bcoz my server is not showing on server browser even everyone can use my server by grobal address.

That should not be a requirement, which server is yours so I can hop in and test a few things?

@Hawkeye-
i think i found what is cause i cannot join to mumble server.

when i set my name as "[MF-2]Felycity Xing[JP]", I cannot join to mumble server.
i think "[" or "]" or both of that cannot recognized by this plugin.
when i set my name as "Felycity" or "Felycity Xing", there is no problem, i can join to mumble server.

can u fix this?

btw, this plugin cannot recognize "2-byte charactor".
when i use Japanese language to mumble channel, i cannot join to channel which i want to.

um... i think this problem is hard to fix.
if u can, thank you very much but even if u cannot, i don't mind.

thanks for your great plugin.

hey this might exactly be the problem on my server! everyone who tried it had a [clantag] in his nick or some unicode characters.
Could you implement a command which enables an admin to make an other person join a clan and giving him a new name ? like
Quote:
sm_mumble userindex newusername //serverconsole command to make someone connect to mumble server
and if userindex is not given, apply this command to the user who is typing it, like:
Quote:
sm_mumble newusername //makes you connect to the mumble server with given nick

i think you are right. thats the problem.
@hawke: rotan solved this problem by adding this to his plugin:

// remove those disallowed chars in the client's name
"DisAllowedClientNameChars" " ()[]{}:@/"

I'll take a look at this tomorrow, should be easy to clean up certain characters, but others not so much..

I am looking into this now, I am trying to figure out exactly what is allowed/not allowed and filter the entire lot of it if I can find a clean way.

Talked to the folks in #mumble on freenode..

You can in fact allow many of the characters via a setting in the murmur.ini file.

Quote:
Regular Expressions

If you want to use a character that the server does not allow, you need to use regular expressions. These are, in themselves, rather complex, but for Mumble, you don't need to learn them. Here's a quick guide to regular expressions:
If you want to use the character "%" in a channel name, then uncomment this line in Murmur.ini:
#channelname=[ \\-=\\w\\#\\[\\]\\{\\}\\(\\)\\@\\|]+ so that it is
channelname=[ \\-=\\w\\#\\[\\]\\{\\}\\(\\)\\@\\|]+then add the character, which will make it look like this:
channelname=[ \\-=\\w\\#\\[\\]\\{\\}\\(\\)\\@\\|\\%]+See? It's easy. You just add each character that you want, putting \\ between each character.
If you want to add the ability for users to use spaces in their username, then uncomment this line
#username=[-=\\w\\[\\]\\{\\}\\(\\)\\@\\|\\.]+so that it is
username=[-=\\w\\[\\]\\{\\}\\(\\)\\@\\|\\.]+then make it look like this:
username=[ \\-=\\w\\[\\]\\{\\}\\(\\)\\@\\|\\.]+(See the space at the very beginning, right after the [ ?)

That being said, I am not sure how Mumble is hosted or if you have access to the ini file directly, but in the interim until I get something completed this would work for a few of you.
