Hi.

Ive been running my CSGO servers on Linux for the last 10 years or so but I have decided to tryout Windows server. Ive been googling and searching looking trough like 50 threads and sites and I cant find a single decent guide on how to optimize your windows and how to run CSGO servers on it (not installing, I have that part covered).

What Im looking for is pretty much what settings in Windows/bios I Should use, like power saving, CPU priority, HT and other tips and trix on how to get a good stable tickrate on 16-20 slots DM servers. Maybe if there are any specific cvars for Windows?

Also how maybe how to set up autoupdate and maybe other useful automation that makes it easier to run the servers. Crash auto restart? Also last time I ran Windows servers, there was these FPS boosters, no idea if thats still a thing?

I don't believe you'll see any benefits with that workload after optimizing

Well I tested stating a server with 16 bots on windows 10 and the tickrate is all over the place. Now ofc my PC isnt really optimized in anyway But I tried putting high prio, assign 2 cores with HT on and it didnt get better (no power savings), maybe Windows server 2012/2008 would be better right out of the box?

I figured you were running a proper server with server grade hw. What are the system's specs

Well I will be doing that. I was just testing/learning on my own PC at the moment.

Most likely, but I don't mess with Windows, so I can't give you solid advice.

I'd stay on Windows Server 2008 R2, performs best for CSGO, especially for higher slot/resource hungry servers.
