I have just brought a new CPU ( Intel Duo Core 2 2.93ghz ) to replace my Intel Duo Core 2 2.13ghz. for some reason when i put the new CPU in my pc turns on for 3 secs then turns off and on continuously. I tried putting back old 1 that seems to work fine.

What is my solution/problems?

Thanks

Stop being too lazy.
Contact some technician who'll do it for you. If you've not that much experience to-do so.

when somone want to upgrade his PC, then he needs to upgrade too many peripheral devices.
that's was my case !

I had this configuration (bought in 2007):
intel Pentium 4 (3.6 GHz)
Motherboard ECS elitegroup 662/1066T-M2
HDD 250 GB maxtor (IDE)
RAM 2 GO (667 MHz samsung)
it was working wonderfully until I installed that stupid "TV capture card"

then I decided to change my motherboard, I bought this one: MSI G31TM-P21
the first thing after the installation, I checked the temperature of the CPU it was between 50° and 90°
I think because that motherboard don't accept such old CPU.

your problem is the same as NAQQASH's one, and the contrary of mine.

and now I have this configuration (bought in 2010):
intel Pentium Core2 Duo (2.93GHz)
Motherboard MSI G31TM-P21
HDD 1000 GB Samsung (SATA)
RAM 2 GO (800 MHz samsung)

I saved my archives in my friend's computer before changing the HDD, it takes about 8 hours, I restored it to my new HDD in 25 minutes

look at this car, can we really upgrade it to the second one ?

Rtfm of your motherboard. How are we supposed to help you if you're not even telling the type of CPU and motherboard? It's Core 2 Duo by the way.
