Done and tested. You wont see damage done to disguised spy.

This plugin does not seem to work for me.
I have downloaded both the attached .smx by krolus (spy_fix) version and the 1.1 original .smx, and none of them seem to work.
I get no errors, and none of the cvars is loaded, can't use any triggers.


I use Source mod 1.2.2-2737

anything else I should be doing to make this work?

physonic, did you load/reload plugin? In my version to enable showing damage you need to type "/dd" in chat, or "dd" in console.
I have same SM (1.2.2-2737) and everything OK.

Hm, apparently it is not enough to reload the plugin on my server - it required a server restart. I couldn't execute that before now when it is empty. Everything seems to be working now - thanks for a great plugin.

Okay, now i have tested both versions. and i have a request. I really like the look of the original plugin - and are not that much into the new changes you made krolus. That is except the spy fix which is really great.

Would it be possible to apply that fix to the original code, or will that be a lot of work? I have not been able to recognize the part of the new code that includes the fix (I'm not really able to code anything).

physonic, original look =) Do u use slide effect? In original version sliding is awful.

Nice one Krolus, maybe you should submit your damage display.

Just a few things about it, could you make it a server cvar or client w/e, to disable show damage done to yourself?

Also to disable the slide effect and make it static and if you do more damage it just erases the old?

Sorry if I'm being picky i just like things simple, right now i was playing and it really gets in the way of the screen and reminded me of wow for like 3 secs. lol

Well I just use the standard plugin settings, no changes at all - I think slide should be enabled, but I'm quite comfortable with the look it has, and the players seem to agree. I do think that the changes you have made makes it too messy on the screen for me. Before it was more subtle in my opinion. maybe other people like the new way better

You did a great job as well, I just would rather be able to use standard look and settings with your great spy fix included.

Wolfbane helps do some coding on our TF2 servers and I've asked him to make a few changes to the plugin. I haven't asked him if he is going to continue to support this plugin here... but if he does... I am getting him to change:
  • Fix cloaked spies providing damage feedback.
  • Prevent the Dead-Ringer providing set damage feedback.
  • Fix additional chat triggers not providing feedback.
  • Add welcome message same as chat trigger message.
