The most attractive thing for a dedicated salvager ship would be a bonus to tractor beam range. Scavenge mode is a four-versus-four affair that pits a team of survivors against a team of the infected just like Versus mode does. But unlike Versus, the survivors aren't trying to get from point A to point B. Instead, they're confined to one area with the goal of staying alive for as long as possible--just like Survival mode.

ok then I'll add if you want to start 5 round scavenge you have to put to your comandline:
+sv_gametypes scavenge +mp_gamemode scavenge +mp_roundlimit 5
putting sm_cvar mp_roundlimit 5 will do nothing, it requires restart

Does that mean you can change it to like 7?

Valve blocked it on 5, setting it to more than 5 will just not work, crash or something else.
