Just an FYI: Ubuntu is based on Debian.
For that matter, on my Ubuntu 14.04 server machine...

codeblocks - Code::Blocks integrated development environment (IDE)
...which means you can install CodeBlocks directly from the Ubuntu package manager.
(Note: There is a graphical package manager, but being a server, I don't have a GUI set up)
Now... on Linux, there are really two major C/C++ compilers. They are GCC/G++ (aka Old and Busted) and LLVM/clang (aka New Hotness).
...now I want to watch the Men in Black movies.
