Best mysql? For things like bans.. and what not

So I ran sql hosting off my NFO hosting.. and realized something wasnt right with the amxbans.. felt like it was getting very laggy cuz the database or.. perhaps EVERYTHING hosted at NFO on the same server or w.e it is.. was causing a lot of load and perhaps was causing lag.

This isn't really about amxbans but more about what the best/fastest sql hoster is?

I currently switched to:
www.a2hosting.com

And.. well I guess they're already for an extra $10 a month. They were the first result on google too when it came to "best mysql hosting"

anyone know of a better? Maybe a quicker more reliable hoster.. I've noticed my amxbans doesnt connect to the database and I get error logs once in a while.. very very odd.. and other days it'll connect, it's almost as if the hoster blocks it.. or goes down sometimes. Can't afford that so.. you know...

NFO's web hosting is miserably slow in my experience, but I also use them to host my servers. If you're knowledgeable with linux, or at least willing to learn, it's worthwhile to rent a single core linux VPS through them (nice and cheap), and set it up to run your databases off that.

I have used hostgator for years and never had any problems with them. I think their hosting starts at $4-$5 a month.

I got a little vps knowledge.. just not enough :\

Hostgator is one of my web hosts.

They do have higher quality service but also have lots of restrictions.

Yeah.. I tried them.. but their interface was way too restricted for me. I kinda just like a simple mysql DB/Php my admin and ftp support to upload everything and get going.

Does anyone know anything else out there quick and easy?

I'm currently on a2 hosted, but want to move to something different.
