resizing banners for sigs?

I have a sig from serverspy i want to put in my signature but its too big

80x525 are the dimensions, which exceed the 125x500

is there anyway i can resize it in the signature? heres the actual banner

That could fit as a sig though, it's not that big.

when i tried, it stopped me from updating my profile and said it was too big so it wouldnt put it in the profile. can a moderator can approve it and override the automatic size requirement?
