1. Used to think that too, but engine creates less variables
2. I don't know if the rotate even changes the origin

I'm sorry to bring back an old topic, but I think I have important information, you can try and rotate the wall using EV_VEC_movedir. I'm not sure how it works yet; I just saw it being used with doors, for rotation. Have fun testing this out, I got to get back to studying =\.

And the values each array element can take seems to be in the range from 0 to 1 inclusive. If this works, this can add even more fun to customizing walls.
