With the abandonment of Timer2 by Zipcore it appears there are no other public skill-surf plugins available which will be actively updated. There is KZTimer, but its still primarily geared towards climb. Wondering if anyone had any plans on releasing a brand new one for CS:GO, maybe even turn it into a community project, who knows.

I was planning on having to make one myself, just want to see what everyone else's plans are as well

Are there any errors with surf timer as it is now?

It has always been buggy, current version is as well still, even the latest forks.
A recent CS:GO update broke the entire plugin not so far back, forcing everyone to recompile his latest update in order to fix it. Chances of a plugin-breaking game update are likely and with no active maintainer, we're going to need a replacement.

Additionally and not as crucial, we could use one that is more user-friendly. Timer2 required everyone to compile from source which many server operators are not to keen on doing, regardless of the practicality of the modular setup. Something with more maintainability, stability and user-friendliness would be most ideal and could really help the number of surf servers for CS:GO grow.

I was always skeptical on the plugin's usability, as it seemed like it was more geared towards his personal use. I ended up just creating my own for my bhop server from scratch. Doubtful, it will be released to the public but it is possible to make your own.
