That's not true. You can change difficulty on VS, you just need to know how ;) I have it implemented on my "private" admin plugin. It's really fun to play VS on Advanced, no one makes it to the safe room. Once we tried it on expert and no one was able to leave start safe room.

If you're interested, i could send you the source code of that part, just PM me.

Sounds cool, I'd love to see it. But I still don't understand what the requested feature is that AcidTester is asking for.

I mean you add part of code from here http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=81088 that allow change difficulty on versus maps.

Thanks for clarifying. I looked over the Director Enforcer plugin. It looks like the key to changing the difficulty in VS is just doing:

Quote:
z_difficulty_locked 0
z_difficulty <difficulty>
I'm already working on implementing a custom_vote command that goes like:

Quote:
custom_vote "<question>" "<optional action>"
Where <question> is what we're voting on and <action> is a server command or cvar change to take if the vote ends up being passed. So this would be pretty easy to do:

Quote:
custom_vote "Change Difficulty to XXX" "z_difficulty_locked 0;z_difficulty XXX;z_difficulty_locked 1"
Once I have worked out all the bugs I'll post an update in the first post. It's going a bit slow right now though, I'm busy in RL. In the meantime you'll have to get by using the console commands or the other plugin.

Okay good luck with this new feature, if u succeed it will be perfect L4D vote plugin.
Also let it be the same vote as normal (lower case) that anybody can vote in versus for difficulty: callvote changedifficulty impossible (for example)
Thanks.

The plugins works nice so far but there are some minor things that you could change.
  1. Add the option to display the plugin's messages in sm_hsay.
  2. If someone misspells a callvote command (like callvote restargame ), the plugin warns the other player's that someone tryed to call the restargame command but didn't have access. This should not be the case, the plugin should just ignore the false command.

Thanks for the feedback.

I'll try this out and see if it works better than chat. I'm not too familiar with hints, I don't think I've ever seen one.

Easy enough, will do.

I posted an update with a check for valid vote types. I am not going to do anything with hsay because I have hints turned off so I won't see them. I suspect the vast majority of other players have hints turned off as well.
