Hi,

I don't know how to make a popular server zombie mod, I have a server from 3 month but he isn't popular....

there are maximum 15-20 players, the server is never full and it's hard to attract new players :s

it's one server with limited ammo ~ 5 skins we have a lot of map too.

you know how to attract players?

post the ip, i like playing on new zombie servers. i currently have a cs 1.6 zm server, but no one comes that much. put the server ip in gametracker and then put it in your sig. put it on skype/msn or get a skype script and make it send to all your contacts. any other ways i don't know. but send me the ip, i love playing on some new good servers. but i think what makes a zombie server really bad is the hud on the zombies sometimes.

There's a problem where certain servers isn't always in the steam master server list. Our server have that problem and it's been almost empty the last month. Sometimes it's visible in the list. Then it's more than half full for the next hour until players leave again.

i can say a couple of things
1. it's a cool server, if there would be more people, and i like that theres a skin i've seen for the first time.
2. fast download big +
3. the help, i hate going on to servers and asking everyone for help. eg how to buy weapons/ammo. try making a help motd in english, and then advertise that help so people would know
4. it's more succseful then my 1.6 server

I can get you a few tips.

*Don't add anything that disbalances the game too much (like unlimited nades + missile, etc)
*Don't add donator system too soon and when you do, don't give donator anything that will make them stronger compared to normal players (anything that doesn't interfere with the gameplay is good)
*Don't overload you server with custom skins and +20mb maps, even servers with high popularity tend to have less players, when a 70mb map is on...
*Always test the map you are going to put on your server, sometimes low fps,bugged or just boring maps make a lot of people leave.

Btw, I found the problem with master servers.

I had wrong sv_region setting. It was set to europe (3), but then it wouldn't show up when they selected "world" in the server browser. So, setting it to world (255) solved it. Players came back.

UPDATE: Actually setting sv_region to 255 (world) would make the server visible only if they use no filter in the server browser. If you want it to be visible to everyone, use -1.

No fastDL = No Players, plain and simple. What I did to make my Zombie Riot popular was I had like 1 zombie skin and very small MB maps. After you get regulars you can start adding more custom content. Also try merging with a clan that has a popular server.
