CS:S, you misread the problem he/she provided. The issue is not the unloading of KAC, it's that KAC was crashing his/her server until he/she took it off. Damn I should just refer to people as it.

Make sure you are using Sockets 3.0.0 Alpha. Previous versions of Sockets WILL cause crashing.

Update 1.2.0.2

This was a simple update to incorporate anti-RCON crash in since the need is there.

All URLs remain the same.

KAC 1.2.0.1 will Auto-Update to 1.2.0.2.

In order to activate the RCON crash prevention you will need to add a ConVar to your server.cfg.

First, this WILL disable RCON password failure banning!!! I suggest you use a very strong RCON password.

To activate this you will need to insert the following line into your server.cfg. KAC 1.2.0.2 will not auto-activate this feature.

Code:
kac_rcon_crashprevent 1
Enjoy.

Im just curious, what did you do differently that "will" prevent crashes? It looks pretty close to other plugins that raise the bounds.

PS: Interesting observation, look at the number of servers with this plugin. "1337"

Unfortunately, it is exactly the same as other plugins. I did a lot of research into the crash because I wanted to prevent it from happening without affecting banning of people attempting to brute force the RCON. But the Source engine keeps crashing itself regardless. It appears the only way to prevent the crash is to prevent the Source engine from activating the code for it.

If you have linux you can use iptables to log ip's of people trying to use tcp on port 27015 and ban their ip's if they show up lots like an attack. Or limit that port just to the ip's needed.

It would be nice if valve fixed the few attacks people can still do on servers.

Kigen, does this anti-RCON crash feature eliminate the need for the rcon locker plugin? Or do you recommend still running both?

RCON LOCK(ER) prevents changing the RCONpw, so you'll be better in safe if you'd still have it. Taking such risk with them would mean gravedeath if they were to crack/find your RCONpw.
