I have huge lag spykes on my servers.. D2Only and MG, where on D2 is way more often than on MG.

CPU: i7-6700k 4.3GHz
OS: Linux
RAM: I forgot to ask the owner, but I'll if needed, but pretty sure it will be enough.
The servers are hosted on a Intel SSD.

It's not DDoS. Don't listen to @sphinx regarding it.

OP:
1. Is your server under virtualization?
2. Can you post the output of sm plugins list from your server's console?
3. What's your server's tickrate, max slots and how many players are online when the lag issues happen?

Your CPU is more than enough to even run a 24 players server at 128 tickrate without a sweat. (unless its cooling is bad and there's some thermal throttling going on)

are you sure the cpu isn't shared ?
These kind of issues are due because of these stuff, like you have a dedicated shared by multiple users, everyone doing stuff by his side so the cpu is sometimes busy and sv - var become crazy.
