Kula was having a different, still-unsolved problem related to Windows file-locking on some systems/configurations. That's why he had the "Error reading XML data from local cached file for Steam group ID" error. I still have some ideas to potentially solve it, but they aren't elegant, and I still wish I knew why it worked for some but not others.

Do you also have that error in your error log? The message you're quoting, from your regular Sourcemod log (not the error log) only means that cURL couldn't successfully connect to the Steam XML API web server at the URL it generated based on your group ID. It normally only happens when the API server is down or there are other connectivity problems, but if you see it coupled with actual errors, then something else is going on.

Are any files getting created at all in sourcemod/data/steam-group-admins-http ?

I'm also confused by that error, because (and I know you may not understand this, but others might):
cURL only runs if cache_file, a global variable, is a valid handle, and onCacheWritten is cURL's callback function, so technically onCacheWritten should never even run if cache_file isn't a valid handle.

ya 3 files were created in sourcemod/data/steam-groups-admins-http

temp.xml
and 2 with the steamgroup ids xml files

Sorry I didn't ask this before, but what game are you using it in, and is it Windows, Linux, or Mac?

Plugin doesent work for me. (On Linux with CSS)
The .xml files in the data folder are correct but Ingame nothing happend.
One time i got a Rank, but this was random luck... after mapchange it was gone.
