This time I'm here to get you to know my recently launched gathers.

How it began

"With the complete death of the professional CS 1.6 scene, there's now thousands of players who still enjoy the game and don't want to move to other games (League of Legends, Counter-Strike Global Offensive, etc), including myself. But we don't have a decent place to play on.

A few months ago, I bought a private server and I started doing some mixes in my facebook page, that went very well for a while. But eventually cheaters started to appear and ruined everything. At that time I began to think about making a type of self-running mix system, that with an anti-cheat so that people could enjoy playing, but I couldn't find a decent anti-cheat to implement, except EasyAntiCheat. Unfortunately, they only sell 50 server packages, which cost 75€ per month.
Without any solution, I quickly dropped the idea, until a guy message me saying that he was working on a gather project, and he already had a lot of work then. So I started working with him, and "picc gathers" were born. Now that we had some type of "organization", I had some power to make publicity, so I could get sponsors much easily. I asked EasyAntiCheat for sponsors, and they gladly accepted. This was huge, and none of this would be possible without it

We kept improving the server script, and eventually opened the website. We tried it for a while but we didn't made much progress since me and my friend both went on vacations, and the project was stalled. When we came back, about 1 week ago, we soon started working on it. We played every single day, making the necessary adjustments and new updates.
And here we are now, with over 1000 members!"

What we have so far

I tried to make the gathers with everything I always wanted in a gather, and removed the things I always hated on them.

Here's what we have so far:

- Anti-cheat
- Automatic server script, no admins needed
- Screenshots
- Skill points and rank system
- User-friendly system, no IRC need.
- Servers in France and Sweden.
- Many small scripts that improve the in-game experience.

What we are trying to improve

Currently, the most important issue that we are dealing with is regarding the skill points. At the moment, the code and system is quite simple, you kill 1 guy, you get X points, you win 1 round, you win Y points, so on and so forth.
The problem is that it doesn't take in account your current skill points. So if you play enough gathers, you can literally have infinite skill points.
We need to implement something that makes it harder to win skill points when you have higher rank.
This is very important because it doesn't make the point system fair. And we need it to be fair so we can make it competitive. With it we could make leagues, prizes, and much more.

We're also trying to find more servers in different locations, so we can expand our system to other countries and continents.

How to play

1) Register at our website: Register here

2) Download EasyAntiCheat
Download it here: http://www.easyanticheat.net/
(Click the blue Download button at the bottom of the page).




3) Open and connect EasyAntiCheat
It will ask to choose your server provider, click on the portuguese flag




4) Choose the piccgamer provider.





5) Connect to the server
See available servers here: Servers here
(Choose the server you desire to play based on your location and the players currently connected).
