I would like a script to be able to remove critical damage in tf2 for competitive playing.

I saw that there is a plugin already that does this but it would be great to be able to toggle it with sourcemod instead

You used to be able to modify this with:
sm_cvar tf_damage_critical_chance

However, with last night's update, valve removed this

Anyone have any other suggestions?

They probably did the same thing to it as they did to mp_friendlyfire though, so it should be trivial to make a plugin that can change it still.

Crits cvars have been removed but I've been working on finding a way around this.

I mostly mod the server.dll using a debugger and finally decided it's time to do it the plugin way.

I've been reading up a lot on source mod and writting some TF2 plugins. I managed to figure out a good bit of sourcemod info but I'm a little confuse on the Entity Properties portion. The documentation isn't that great on this subject but I managed to search the forums and look at others code to figure it out.

I've been documenting everything I can find at http://www.3-pg.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=702

Hopefully this will help others out.

Now back to the crit subject ;)

Using CTFPlayer I can change the players health by using setentdata m_iHealth. I did notice the following that are avaliable.

m_bCritFire
m_bCritical
m_bCritShot
m_iCritMult

I tried messing with them... Some returned values others didn't work but setting any of them to a certain value had no effect to the game.

Is it possible to to mess with these and actually get crits working or am I working in the wrong direction here?

Indeed, just had the shittiest game for ages because random shotgun crits from a different server (might be a slight exaggeration there) killed me randomly every fecking time. Any news oh coding kings?
