- Talking about Re* is okay.
- Releasing plugins using Re* API is okay (though, if possible, a version supporting the original would be strongly encouraged and welcomed)
- Asking support for Re* is okay but makes more sense to go where the upstream provides support, i.e. usually on GitHub.

This is Arkshine's call, but I think this would be alright in the general HLDS forum, just not the AMXX ones - obvs it always makes more sense to go where the upstream provides support though.

If you are okay with it, then it's fine by me as well.

Maybe we should consult the owner of this website so that he can investigate the legality of all of this and give a definitive answer yes or no since he is the one that will be liable for any legal consequences.

In fact, Valve already said that reverse eng it's an infringement but who knows... A lot of plugins, modules and tools here have been done by reverse eng.

Hello Sam,

Valve isn't able to offer the GoldSrc source code to the public under open source or other licenses. We aren't going to give you permission to do this project.

You are violating the Steam Subscriber Agreement by reverse engineering the code. You are also violating rights of Id Software and other licensors that are embodied in GoldSrc.

Please confirm back to me in email that you have removed the reverse engineered code from GitHub, and have ceased reverse engineering the code.

-Mike

Well, It's quite the obvious generic answer you would expect from steam staff. Reverse-engineering has been always against Valve TOS.
