hey all!

like so many others I also had the problem, that my windows css-gungame-server crashed after the latest update with steamCMD, because of Matties Eventscripts.

I now want to replace those Matties Eventscripts with SourceMod. Can anyboldy please help me to do this, so that my css gungame 5.1 will be running again?

How do I remove the Matties Eventscripts and after that how do I have to install and tweak SourceMod, so that GunGame is running?

Many thanx in advance for any hint or help!
Cheers!

Hiya-- just to be sure you had seen it, I updated EventScripts for SteamPipe back in April.

http://forums.eventscripts.com/viewt...407186#p407186

It works for most people-- that being said, some platforms still have issues but we don't have enough information to work around those. Please post over there if you do have a reproducible crash with the latest builds and we'll see if we can pinpoint the cause.

That being said, I can absolutely understand your desire for flexibility. Good luck on your quest if you move on-- I'd love there to be more options out there and SourceMod is a great platform.

Mattie I think it's the SPE that needs to be updated, since GG 5.1 uses that, and some people there has reported same issues as stoobz

Hey guys, thanks for the hint.

So I got a little further and MetaMod and SourceMod seem to be running.
The thing is, I had to edit the metaplugins.ini like below, because the sourcemod.vdf was ignored:

metaplugins.ini:
Quote:
;If your plugin came with a .vdf file, you do not need to use this file.
;
;List one plugin per line. Each line should contain the path to the plugin's binary.
;Any line starting with a ';' character is a comment line, and is ignored.
;
;You do not need to include the _i486.so or .dll part of the file name. Example:
; addons/sourcemod/bin/sourcemod_mm
;You may also put an alias in front of the file, for example:
; sm addons/sourcemod/bin/sourcemod_mm
;Will allow you to use "meta load sm" from the console.
;
;********* LIST PLUGINS BELOW ***********
addons/sourcemod/bin/sourcemod_mm
So if I start my windows dedicated and steamCMD updated css-server, and load any map I can type "meta list", "meta version"" and "sm version" and it gives me this:

Seems to be ok, no? Or has there to be a gungame-plugin showing up?

so if I´m on the client, trying to connect to my server I get a regular game, but no gungame.
I also made sure to enable it in the gungame.config.txt. If I open the console to check if SourceMod is working and I put in "sm_admin" nothing happens at all. So it doesn´t seem to be activated or something.

What am I missing here?

maybe I have to put something into the cstrike/cfg/autoexec.cfg? Just asking, because Matties Scripts were triggered from there before..

Any ideas?

Thanks alot in advance for any hint/help!!
Cheers!

okay this is how to do it.

Install this snapshot of sourcemod
http://www.sourcemod.net/smdrop/1.5/...41-windows.zip

And this snapshot of metamod
http://www.metamodsource.net/mmsdrop...19-windows.zip

Now with Sourcemod you will need plugins to get the different stuff running, so you go to the plugin page and search for the stuff you need, like gungame
http://www.sourcemod.net/plugins.php

the stuff there should be placed in cstrike/addons/sourcemod/
.smx files goes into the plugins folder
.sp to the scripting
phrases to the translation

normally people also write how to install there plugin.
and you don't need to put the .sp file in the scripting folder, since it's just the source, the .smx file is the compiled version of the .sp file which the server reads.
But it's always a good idea to keep the .sp file in the scripting folder also, if you will need to edit some stuff in it.
That way you don't need to go to the plugin page again to get the source.

If the plugin is set to auto create a config file, you will be able to find it in
cstrike/cfg/sourcemod/

That's really great - but the SteamPipe update was not just yesterday.

I appreciate your work entirety but the last months I really thought EventScripts is going to die. So I also contacted you - but you didn't want to give any answer. I did not get any answer in the forum too.

So I decided to move EventScripts to the legacy frameworks, that also means the framework isn't possible in the webinterface and all customers will get a warning if using EventScripts.

Please tell me if you decide to continue developing EventScripts - that would be great.

April is not yesterday, I don't understand this comment. ES fix response time is not guaranteed, but the downtime window was not long.

I get many messages. I'm not able to respond to every one, my apologies.

I don't know what you're referring to, do you provide game rental services or something? You are welcome to do whatever you like on your service--- do what's best for your customers. It's not my business how you handle your business.

Hey guys,

I finally got it to work.
I made a fresh install of the dedicated server and with the suggestions of Dope^ it almost worked - I just had to generate the metamod.vdf and put it into the addons folder.

Thanks alot for the support!!
