I've googled this issue so much and I can't figure it out. I'm running Windows Server 2012 R2. Is there any trick to getting higher server FPS? I installed the Desktop Experience on the server to get Windows Media Player since I heard that would activate something in Windows to get higher Server FPS, but I have another server for a game running and the server is full so I can't restart yet.

Is there any trick to getting higher server FPS? I have +fps_max 1000 in the shortcut to launch the server.

What game are you trying to run? Many sourcemod engine games are locked at 66 tickrate.

TF2. Are tickrate and serverfps always equal now? Didn't seem like that was the case when googling.

They are different settings. Tickrate is tickrate, and it's locked at 66 for most SRCDS games.

Yes. It used to be that framerate was a loop that would run a tick when it hit the tickrate, so a higher framerate meant hitting the tick closer to the correct time more often. Many years ago (late 2011) that was deemed silly, so now it runs ticks directly using the operating system scheduler to keep the correct timing while reducing CPU usage.

Ah I didn't know about that change. That's right about when I stopped hosting SRCDS servers.
