Why is it important, to compile with the sourcemod version you are using?

If we take this plugin here as an example, why not just download the source from op, use the online compile tool and then call it a day?

And does this plugin here, work for windows? If no, is it possible to update it for windows?
Or do I just have to compile it with the web compile tool, and thats it?

Its not important, if it where the case I would spend many an hour recompiling and updating my servers with all the plugins every time a new snapshot was available.

Sometimes the online compiler wont work because a plugin requires a 3rd party extensions to be included in order to compile.
ie. Left4Downtown would need to be included for plugins that relay on this extension.

Most of the time you don't have to bother recompiling plugins for new SourceMod versions. Extensions can be a whole different ballgame (and Valve also breaks those periodically).

But I heard back then, whem steampipe got added / updated, that it broke alot of plugins. And the windows signatures on many plugins, had to be updated by people.

But since this is just a .smx file, theres no such thing as needing update?

Hi, how would I make it so players on my server can kick other players?

Public player can kick public players through the games menu.

Admins can kick admins by setting immunity values.
"STEAM_0:0:00000000" "99:z" //admin1 (admin1 can kick admin2)
"STEAM_1:1:11111111" "77:z" //admin2 (admin2 cannot kick admin1)

This is right... although people are reporting issues with it being grayed out since the L4D SteamPipe update.

...but this is wrong as admin2 can kick admin1... "z" (root) admins aren't restricted by immunity. It's one of the reasons your admins shouldn't all have the "z" flag.

Was just giving you the idea with the immunity value. never tried to kick a root admin and why would you, but I'm going to test the theory shortly.

Unfortunately I don't use vm2 so not completely sure about this but check your "admin_overrides.cfg" you may have entries in there that effectively greys out the menu choice. This is the case with vm3 which is what I use.

"veto" "b"
"pass" ""
"cooldown_immunity" "b"
"notify" ""
"custom" ""
"returntolobby" ""
"restartgame" ""
"changedifficulty" ""
"changemission" ""
"changechapter" ""
"changealltalk" ""
"restartgame" ""
"kick" "" <---- adding any flag here will grey out the kick choice for public players
"kick_immunity" "b"

Greatly appreciated thanks.. i think this needs updating because of the steam pipe update (kick option greyed out)
