Hmm, do you have anything to back up the statement regarding segmentation faults/crashes?
If the server is running, you still have a way to communicate with the players (such as doing something just "before" a restart), .. however:
I'm just thinking - if the server crashes, how would you actually get it to send the message to the players (to tell them to reconnect)?
