You need the CSS GCF file to play CSP. Where do you think you'll get the gcf file? CSP doesn't supply it in their downloads.

You know what, CSP is a Source Mod not a CSS mod. That means anyone who has a game that lets you download the SDK base files can play it. Got l4d2? Yeah you can play CSP. Totally legal.

CSP uses CSS 'shared' GCF which is again fine because it's the shared GCF and not the 'base' GCF.

If you have a game that lets you download the SDK base files then you're good to go. I still don't know why MordeKay thinks it's illegal.

Sure you can make a CSP server without owning any game at all. You don't even need a Steam account. That goes for all the downloadable server files in hldsupdatetool.

But in order to play the game? You need a game that lets you download SDK base. Most games that let you download it aren't free like L4D2, HL2. TF2 just went F2P though and TF2 lets you download the SDK base for free. So in short, all the mods that REQUIRE you to have SDK base are free now.

HINT: SDK Base*. If you have it, you can play WHATEVER mod you want.
