What you should add to this is a description telling which entities it should return true in this case, and which not to return true. I mean it's a great picture, very pretty. But I don't understand what to make of it.

it's more about the origin of the entities rather than the entities themselves.
i want to find out, for example, if the origin of entity 1 is in the same hull(not isolated) as the origin of entity 2.
PS: for example, if entity 3 would be inside of wall 1 it wouldn't be in the same hull as entities 1 and 2 because it would be fully isolated.

let's just call them closed rooms instead of hulls if that makes it more understandable.

black = walls
red = origin
grey = range in which i want to position my flame sprites

i want to position them anywhere inside that grey range, except inside those walls and including in the positions exampled by the yellow stars.
