so i'm trying to freeze the player's lower body animation but still allow him to play the upper body ones or the opposite. is it possible? if yes, how?

not possible. either play full sequence, or edit the model and precache it on server.

it should be possible since pretty much everything player model animation related is handled server side and the top and bottom of the player model are playing 2 different animations at the same time.
i've read somewhere that they are handled by 2 separate entities or something like that.
