I guess you have admin access and immunity to kick because sam_respect_admins convar not is empty. Set the value of this variable to "". You will be kicked after 120 seconds, even if you are admin.

I tested the plugin today. At first it did not work but then I noticed why it not work. The plugin is great for Coop. It is simple. You have to install the plugin and then enter in server.cfg 'sm_cvar director_afk_timeout "60". That's the time from when you switch to spectator in seconds. And in the Plugin config the time is from how many seconds one is kicked. If you are alone on the server then the plugin is not working. Only if at least 2 players are on the server.

You never go to afk if you are alone in coop on vanilla server. So, the plugin is respects default game mechanics.
