Hey guys, I recently got a dedi from OVH (MC-64-OC, 7700k). The server tickrate variance is all over the place, and it cannot keep steady. This is on a fresh CS:GO installation, nothing else running. It's the same with 0 players connected or 40 bots.

Currently running Windows Server 2016, all power settings set to maximum performance, and the core speed is completely stable, give or take ~4mhz. I've disabled C-states in bios, and everything else that I could see that would indicate 'power saving' features.

Anyone know how I could go about solving this issue? It's absolutely driving me nuts and I'm beginning to think I wasted my money!

Is your server tick rate set to 85?

This occurs after Windows 2008R2

usually(2012/2016...)

If you set -tickrate to 85.3 this kind of phenomenon is quite normal(84.9-86.0)

If you care about these try use Windows 2008 R2 but 7700k is not suitable(https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...s-version-that)

so windows server 2008 R2 VAR is lower usually 0.02X Windows Server 2016 0.3XXX

I think this doesn't affect the actual use of it (SRCDS actual performance > 2008R2 + 6700K)

(These are my personal views(conclusion 1 servers for 6700K + Win 2008 , 2 servers for 7700K+ Win2016 , 6 servers for Windows server 2008 Server R2(4790K) )ALL dedicated server)

If tickrate is set to 85 it will vary from 85 + ~1.0. So yes this is most likely your issue.

No, it will not. My other 85.3t servers on Windows Server 2008 R2 do not vary anywhere near 1.0.

e54385991 is correct, Windows Server 2012+ gives a varied tickrate, albeit steady, but unacceptable for me. To 2008 R2 we go, thanks for the input everyone!
