Seems to be some aim-bot out there that SMAC doesn't catch just yet.

I'll try to cap a video of it next time.

Basically, the symptom is while ghosting a suspect, they are killing people their weapon not aimed at (a few degrees off target).

Temporary banned two people for it so-far.

To be fair this happens all the time, new stuff comes out, smac update, they update.
Never ending cheat/anticheat war. Logs and the actuall cheat will be usefull, a demo of cheats will only prove that he cheats, not how.

Yes, understood on the constant struggle.
Not sure what logs would be helpful - since it's not detected as anything.

Those are fully undetected, they are called "perfect silent" cheats.

How do they work?
When someone is using those, he's sending his fake viewangles on the UserCmd (the aimbot ones, when the player shoots) and then he checks for the times that the gun is going to shoot or the delay of one shot to another, in that time, the cheat is disabling bSendPacket from being sent to server, they're timing out at that time but the old IN_ATTACK press is still being sent to the place the aimbot is aiming.

In theory atleast yes by creating an algorithm that detects lag right after shooting and if this detection happens enough times in a certain time period (10 times in 10 minutes for example) logs/bans the player for suspected cheating.
