I've noticed the GeoIP country codes are outdated. Like Yugoslavia (yu) is currently Serbia and Montenegro (cs), and the "cs" code is used as "yu" has been removed (technically Serbia and Montenegro split into two seperate countries but the iso code still has to be updated to reflect that).

I don't know everything about GeoIP but I'm assuming this means GeoIP.dat needs updating also?

Can you release a temporary fix for it until the next update (like you did with the ip/port bug)? I want to make sure my plugin detects the correct countries (kinda meticuluous about this stuff ).

geoip is a thin wrapper around maxmind's geoip library. they package and distibute both the C API and geoip.dat (the database). the latest version is used every release.

i do not have the link on hand (on pda) but google 'maxmind geoip' to find the latest database. you will have to contact them about any country corrections.

You can find the geoip module with the port bug fix in the bug report you did some time ago, its attached on my last post.

So to get the latest version, I need to download geoip.dat and recompile the geoip module with the latest API (GeoIP.c and GeoIP.h)? Hmm...a lot of work...Faluco can you do it?

I did find an updated API on the website that apparently contains this change. It will go into the release following 1.76 because right now the trunk is basically locked for a change such as this. But for now, you can try this binary.

Yes, i updated the GeoIP API in my local copy 2 weeks ago but forgot to upload it to SVN, i'll try to upload it soon.
