Well, it's all in the title. I need to get Metamod: Source to work with Steam on a Counter Strike: Source Listen Server so I can use AMX Mod X with CSDM.
(Complicated, I know, but back in the day when TFC was the hot thing, I set up a HLDS server with MM and AdminMod and a shitload of plugins, so I have SOME experience)

I have everything set up correctly (as far as I know) but when i start a server and type "meta version" in the console, it doesn't recognize it (I'm assuming metamod isn't loaded).

I don't know if there should be a liblist.gam in my cstrike mod folder since I'm using Steam, but there isn't one there. CS worked fine (and still does) but just in case, I made a liblist.gam file identical to what it should look like with metamod.

Also, I added "-dll addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll" to 'Launch Options" (foget where I saw to put that there). However, when that didn't work, I had another DLL (which I think is the MM: Source DLL) which I changed it to: "-dll addons\metamod\bin\server.dll".

Please tell me if it's even possible to use these all together.
Has anyone even had problems with this before?
I've been googling, looking for help, for days. Please Help!

You're mixing up the original MetaMod with MetaMod: Source. Plugins are different for both. If you want the Source version of CSDM (called CS:SDM), go here.

AMXModX (and AMXMod for that matter) are strictly HL1 MetaMod plugins and will not load in HL2.

Alright, That would have been a problem.

But I still can't get MM: Src to work. See above..

You're following the HL1 MetaMod installation instructions. Follow these ones.

Ok, that definitely helps.

BUT.. I added the line to my gameinfo.txt and added the "." to the end of that line, and made it a read only file.

BUT.. when I start my server, I type "meta version" int he console and it says "unknown command: meta".

Then when I go back to my gameinfo.txt file, it's the same as it was before I added the extra line above the rest of the 'game' lines, and it's not read only anymore.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Search paths section before I make server:
Code:
SearchPaths
		{
			GameBin			|gameinfo_path|addons/metamod/bin.
			Game				|gameinfo_path|.
			Game				cstrike
			Game				hl2
		}
(and it's read only)

Search paths section after I make server:
Code:
SearchPaths
		{
			Game				|gameinfo_path|.
			Game				cstrike
			Game				hl2
		}
(and it's not read only anymore)

If your using Win XP Pro, set the permissions to disallow write to everyone including yourself.

If not, use LDukes method he posted on here somewhere containing a bat file. It might be a sticky, im very lazy tonight.

I have WinXP Home.

I tried the .bat file but it crashes to my desktop abput a second after running and showing the CS:S splash screen.

I posted in the sticky for help with that but haven't gotten a reply as of yet.

You could just setup a dedicated server and connect 127.0.0.1
