type in 192.168.0.1 or something simliler to it in the adress bar.

Type in password.

In the advance section, look at the left. there will be dmz.

Click it and set it to you ip and enable it.

restart your server and own some noobs (like you)

This is not for all the routers. this is how i do it. My router is a D-link. The steps varies depending on your router if ya need help, send me pics of ur router (192.168.0.1 not hte real router) and ill make steps for that.

Uhh what happens if you dont have an account? do i have to create a msn account because my yahoo one isnt working i also have d-link

yer i have a router but ... i use ti for my internet connexio line ... so if i were to use for my server ... will it stop my connexion or what ??? my router is a BeWAN ... look on

i have a bewan adsl router ....

go to http://www.bewan.com though i dont think they have a pic of it in the english section since i live in france ... they have it on the french version ...

o wait one more thing ... well first of all i dont understand jack about routers and stuff ... but me and my friend made a server ... at the same time ... but his works on internet ... i dont think he used a router neither ... he even came round mine to do everything like he did to his ... though he has got a normal server ...

this is bad advice.... setting it to DMZ will make your computer outisde the routers firewall. Basically leaves you open to being hacked and viruses and worms. Best bet it to forward the ONE port you need for the server.

find the manual for your router and read it. All routers are different.

i cant forawrd it to one port because i dont know what to forawrd, it isnt only 1 port. i think 2 or 3. and anyways, i have a firewall and my router disables scans.

it is only one port....

its the port the server is running on. I run my own ded server for testing and I only forward the port the server runs on and it works fine, other can connect to it and help me test.

check steam forum for your router, then check your router's page for steam, this is not the place, there are too many possible things particular to each router
