Honestly I personally find the Karma system usefull. But like Bail said people misunderstood its purpose.
I am busy from time to time and when I sign in on the forum I always help the people on scripting help or eventually post a tutorial.
The problem is that not all people undestand the help or don't have a correct atitude when they are helped. So there are idiots that give -Karma for no purpose.
There have been lots of situations when I for instance didn't receive karma although I helped. And I didn't care for that.

I've seen that people came up with some interesting new karma system suggestions. So I'm out of ideas .

Anyway good idea of turning that thing off!
And hoping for a newer and better Karma system .

And many users here have been to stupid to use it for it's purpose.

If we didn't have users that abused it such as creating multiple accounts to give themselves karma, or give -karma to people they don't like or random people, then karma would still be here. It's kind of like why some school don't have nice things such as laptops, and it's because there are some students that would mess it up.
