Yeah you're right ^^ But maybe he could try a live cd based on debian like Knoppix? The HD install is still not perfect, but it works at least, and it's very easy!

I'm still saying that he should use Mandrake... it's alot easier. Not that powerfull as debian... but still... it's pretty cool for a newbiee.

Yes, it's a good distro, and maybe more simple than debian for a newbie ;)
