This had been working since the last SteamTools update. Today I noticed it had once again stopped. Not sure what the cause is.

** Apparently there was a newer new release of steam tools. Once updated the plugin started functioning again.

Is this plugin still being maintained/used, by any chance? If not, is there a replacement for it?

If it is.... one small feature request if it's not asking too much - the ability to exempt players/admins from the tags/suffixes, such as through the use of the overrides sm_free_eempt and sm_premium_exempt and the CVar sm_free2rename_exemptions 0/1.

I just came here to report that this plugin is fully working as intended. Just tested it with the most recent build of SteamTools from here on a fully up-to-date SRCDS on a Linux machine and had no issues.

Updated the plugin and the steamtools include to new syntax. Plugin untested but could work.

Why would it work? You didn't fix anything - all you did was update the syntax. And it doesn't work.

The problem is here:

if (Steam_CheckClientSubscription(client, 0) && !Steam_CheckClientDLC(client, 459))

This always returns false no matter the type of account.

EDIT: Nevermind. It appears the issue is with Steam Tools and I doubt it will ever get fixed.

this could be ported over to steamworks more than likely, since steamworks works with tf2

Updated to new SteamWorks extension. And aswell made from scratch.
