its quite common to have STEAM ID in quotes, a lot of basic commands that HL and HL2 created must be used in quotes, thats just proper syntax.

such as name "BigBaller OMG" would be the correct way to add a space in your name

I hate it too. The problem is each part of the things after a command is stored in a seperate area like this:

admin_ban Manip 1

Store 1 = admin_ban
Store 2 = Manip
Store 3 = 1

If the SteamID is not in quotes it gets spread out into lots of stores like this:

admin_ban Steam_0:1:20202 1

Store 1 = admin_ban
Store 2 = Steam_0
Store 3 = :
Store 4 = 1
Store 5 = :
Store 6 = 20202
Store 7 = 1

Which is a serious pain in the ass to get working and taking into account that people could have used the quotes and it might be in store 2.

PS I'm literally right now adding LAN play / IP address stuff.

hi, i have root access to my hostet linux server, i put the sap_sp_i486 in

/bin/

and the vdf in

/cstrike/addons/

i wrote my steamid correctly WITH spaces in the server.cfg

but i won´t get the plugin started.

every time unknown command admin_help etc.

someone knows a hint? maybe i forgot something cause the two files are installed into the correct folders and i left the .vdf alone

You need to restart the server. A mapchange isn't enough.
