now Marvel told me to use this:

-s /var/run/mysql/mysqld.sock /tmp/mysql.sock 


but the database is not on the same machine as the server... how do I solve this?

I use the database.cfg to make a connection to the DB, I also inserted the sql file.. and set everything up (with help from Marvel) the DB is running, server also.. but I still get this error, and i can't seem to find out what it is...

thx for the link.. but I have no clue where to look at :/
I am maybe over looking something but can seem to find out what.

EDIT: we seem to got it to work a little, but when selecting a server we get the message:

This server is offering you to connect you to
IP ***.***.**.**:27015
please configure a key to accept

then this screen stays there even when i leave the game or come back to it

Sorry I just uninstalled L4D2 so I can't test it. But on TF2 it says F3.

Maybe you changed your keyboard configuration?

L4D2 does: bind "F3" "askconnect_accept" by default. Same as it binds the 'H' key to open up the motd. L4D1 doesn't anything of that.

Maybe u can use a plugin that binds this key for players that join to askconnect_accept?

I looked at the file and I determined it is impossible to fix the ad plugin without a large rewrite which I will not do.
