kwski43: It should only display if the variable is set to 1. Set to 0 it should be off and 2 means the bounce is forced and so the message should not display either. Also: g_hGunAllow is a handle, not variable so I doubt your edit would have worked...

EDIT: I see I forgot to check that g_bGunAllow is enabled, thats the one you wanted Also because it's a boolean you don't need the "== 1" (which would give a tag mismatch warning).


alexip121093: The ground flare models remove after 2 minutes. Maybe I'll add a cvar so you can choose when they should delete. I cannot/will not remove the limit as the plugin stores entity IDs of what it creates so it can delete if the plugins unloaded. What maximum limit anyway? The flare 1 per player?


Elektramode: I've built this along side all my plugins and roughly 40 others. Consider updating Gear Transfer thats a very old version! Also it should work on any gamemode.

To create a flare with blue light: !flare 0 0 255
To turn on the attached light and make it green: !light 0 255 0

Silvers, how stable would you say this is on a 10v10 server?
Particles are cpu intensive and can, with too many effects, cause fps drop both server side and client side.

When I tried one of your beta version together with SilentBr, I found out that if 6-8 people would get incapped at the same time, the server would get a huge FPS drop (all clients would start lag basicly after all the flares were up) and a couple of minutes later the server would seg-fault crash.

Should I be worried about this in the new version?

I think the earlier versions were more cpu intensive. Try it out and let me know, I personally never had a problem spawning 10-20 flares with 8 players on the server, it will affect the clients FPS for sure especially on low-end systems. This is one of the reasons I limited everyone to 1 flare (except root admins).

EDIT Updated:
- Fixed Flare Gun hint text displaying when Flare Gun is off.
- Change the default Flare Gun Speed (l4d_flare_gun_speed) cvar from 600 to 1000.

Weird, for me it only works on Campaign and Realism (versus/scavange have not tried yet)

Ahh I see, thats because there is a cvar to only enable the plugin on certain game modes and by default I set "coop,realism"... Simply set l4d_flare_modes ""

@rava:

There is a cvar to only enable the plugin on certain game modes and by default it is "coop,realism". Set l4d_flare_modes "" or "versus" if you only want it enabled in versus. If you have installed it correctly then that should be the only issue.
