Reply With Quote #1

So, I followed this guide https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil.../?id=780757784, and tried to create a server this way, but, there are a few problems I am encountering, that I dunno how to fix :

1. Before the server gets created, it throws out an error that tells me stuff about CommandLine, DLL and metamod.2.csgo.dll (my server is created in TF2, so, I do not see why it tells me to have files for csgo)

2. As soon as I close that, the server gets created, but, the first several times the port 27015 was taken, and 27016 was chosen instead, 27005 was taken and 27006 was chosen instead, and 27020 was taken and 27021 was chosen isntead. I just created the server again, and this problem is not here, so, maybe this was just a one time problem.

3. I can join the server, but the problem is that other people cannot. I tried to ask my friend to come over, but no matter what he tried, he couldn't get on.

4. When I capped the point, and 3 minutes passed, I got a Auto-connetion problem, 21 seconds passed, and I was kicked out of the server.

5. When I rejoined the server afterwards, and died as a red soldier, for some reason the models of the map were much higher then the collision. Now, I don't know if this is a one time situation, or if it happens consistently, specific to the red soldier, or not, but, any help would be appreciated.

Are you running the server on the same machine as your game client?

Yes, I am. Is that a problem?

If it is, is there any way to make it more stable, or is it not adviced to both play and host?

Well, that explains the changing ports because your client is using the default ones. You probably need to forward the ports your game server is using so people outside your network can join.

Oh, nvm, figured it out. How do I deal with it asking for metamod.2.csgo.dll, auto connection, and the models/collision problem?

The (probably containing a virus) server files linked in the guide contain an ancient version of Metamod:Source, you'll need to update it from the MM:S website.

You should just throw away the whole thing and download the official SRCDS files from Valve using steamcmd.
