The plugin you linked works just fine, I use it on my servers. Check your error logs and setup.

It won't work 100% of the time, because as a user pointed out in that thread:

It's not a perfect system, but it works (for the most part, I've come to find). I know some users who have SLAM who use it and get instantly kicked, some others who are also using SLAM do not.
